chicken rice for lunch today.....

The New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice @ Mid-valley had undergone a renovation lately and reopens for business this week. Impromptu, I and 2 colleagues decided to have lunch at this restaurant today to check out the new décor.

The open concept kitchen was moved to the back of the restaurant, releasing more space at the front and customer can smoke on the ground floor as it was not air conditioned. However, the open air concept on the 1st level was removed and the whole floor is now fitted with air-con, which means no smoking allowed!! However, with new and bigger furniture, the whole restaurant seems more crowded. We were advised that there were more seats available upstairs and when we went up to the 1st floor, it was crowded and no tables were available. Hence, we moved down again and managed to secure a table. We ordered their set lunch (for 3 to 4 persons), which comes with 3 plates of chicken rice, quarter chicken, Soup of the day (2 bowls), roast pork, stewed pork with muay choy and La La soup. The chicken and stewed pork with muay choy are very good, as the chicken meat are soft and tender, and the pork melts in your mouth. Total the bill comes to $59.80 (approximately $20 per person). Very fulfilling and satisfying meal…. Still feeling very full now!!

I think their chicken rice set had also increased from $9.90 to $12 per person. I already don’t feel like paying $9.90 for chicken rice set and which such increase, I doubt I will go there often… this will be once in awhile treat for myself……

26Apr09's morning ......

Yesterday, I nearly knocked into a boy (age around 7 to 8 years old) near my aunt's house. We were there to visit my aunt and to pass her some fried fish paste. We were there for approximately 10 to 20 mins and decided to leave as my mom needs to do some grocery shopping. Luckily I was driving quite slowly due to the road bump. The annoying part was this young boy saw my car and he stopped but at the last min, he decided to have a go and rushed across the road... thank god, I managed to brake on time.... Saw his family was waiting for him in a car nearby and guess he is worried that they leave without him...I was stunned for a moment and thereafter started swearing... got to admit, if I really knocked into him, I will not pity him. Coz he does it to himself........ I was again at that area in the late evening and saw children running, playing and cycling on the road… well, it is a housing estate but that does not mean there are no cars in that area and parents needs to keep their eyes on their children … think the parents needs to have their head check for the correct mentality!!

teamwork ........

Teamwork - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Teamwork is a joint action by two or more people or a group, in which each person contributes with different skills and Express his or her individual interests and opinions to the unity and efficiency of the group in order to achieve common goals.
This does not mean that the individual is no longer important; however, it does mean that effective and efficient teamwork goes beyond individual accomplishments. The most effective teamwork is produced when all the individuals involved harmonize their contributions and work towards a common goal.
In order for teamwork to succeed one must be a teamplayer. A teamplayer is one who subordinates personal aspirations and works in a coordinated effort with other members of a group, or team, in striving for a common goal. Businesses and other organizations often go to the effort of coordinating team building events in an attempt to get people to work as a team rather than as individuals.
The
forming-storming-norming-performing model takes the team through four stages of team development and maps quite well on to many project management life cycle models, such as initiation - definition - planning - realisation.
As teams grow larger, the skills and methods that people require grow as more ideas are expressed freely. Managers must use these to create or maintain a spirit of teamwork change. The intimacy of a small group is lost, and the opportunity for misinformation and disruptive rumors grows.
